WHAT IS THE MISSION OF YOUR BUSINESS? The mission of the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce is to be the voice of business. We are Macon-Bibb's most significant, organized business community, creating power in numbers. We are currently made up of nearly 730 local businesses who are invested in the Chamber, from the smallest businesses to our biggest industries. The Chamber demonstrates our impact by bringing the business community together. We create connection through our network, education with programming and initiatives, legislative advocacy for our region, and opportunities to accelerate your business. WHY IS CENTRAL GEORGIA A GOOD PLACE TO DO BUSINESS? Our Chamber's vision is for Macon to provide the best location for business in Georgia, which is consistently ranked the number one place to do business in our country. Macon is a place to make your mark. That's why our Chamber network is so vitality important to our economic vitality. HOW CAN EVERYONE BETTER SUPPORT WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS/ LEADERS? The Greater Macon Chamber is home to Leadership Macon, our premier community leadership program. Part of supporting women is advocating for and identifying emerging leaders — nominate someone for Leadership Macon. Here at the Chamber, our staff is almost entirely women. And we're not shy to point it out! But there is room for improvement. Less than 15 percent of our investors in our Chamber network identify as women-owned businesses. It's important that we, as a Chamber, forge avenues to increase that number. The Chamber has opportunities to plug in and be at the table, from our ambassador program to board and committee service. All of this can start just by attending your first Business After Hours, Connecting Over Coffee, Macon Matters program. Ladies, we see you — and welcome you to opportunity. 2023 Women in Business THE GREATER MACON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 338 POPLAR ST., MACON, GA 31201 (478) 621-2000 | INFO@MACONCHAMBER.COM MACONCHAMBER.COM PICTURED FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: RENITA PATTERSON, VP OF ENGAGEMENT; TANNER SMITH, INVESTOR RELATIONS MANAGER; JENNIFER BRONNER, VP OF FINANCE; JESSICA WALDEN, PRESIDENT AND CEO; KRISTEN GRISSOM, PROJECT COORDINATOR; LYNN FARMER, CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER; KASEY MORRIS, COMMUNITY MANAGER S P E C I A L A D V E RT I S I N G S E C T I O N APRIL/MAY 2023 | maconmagazine.com 105
