WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR WOMEN WANTING TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESS, GOING BACK TO WORK, OR STARTING A NEW CAREER IN MACON? I encourage women to discover and utilize their talents through work, whether paid work, volunteer work, and sometimes a combination. Post-COVID, there are many acceptable options for workspace and work time. The traditional work model of the past often did not allow women, especially with young children, opportunities to build careers. Co-working, working home offices, flexible work hours offer great opportunities to all women. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT MACON? Macon is home. I have grown up here, and I have witnessed the wonderful and positive changes taking place all around me. I love that there are opportunities for everyone to grow, collaborate, be involved, and everyone has the opportunity to affect positive change. WHAT IS THE MOST GRATIFYING PART OF YOUR WORK OR LIFE? The most gratifying part of my work life is the people I have the opportunity to work beside. In the community there are young leaders producing great results in Downtown, Intown, Vineville, Pleasant Hill, Mill Hill, and so many more! This community is invested in creating outdoor spaces that serve all of the community. It is wonderful to be a part of this. I ADMIRE WOMEN WHO: Create community around themselves, their peers, and their neighbors to support each other. Women listen, learn, and take action when they have the support of community. I HOPE MORE WOMEN WILL: Engage in community and foster and encourage others. 2023 Women in Business WIMBERLY TREADWELL LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT, WIMBERLY TREADWELL DESIGNS 840 HIGH ST., MACON, GA 31201 (478) 808-0391 WIMBERLYTREADWELL.COM S P E C I A L A D V E RT I S I N G S E C T I O N APRIL/MAY 2023 | maconmagazine.com 101
