Q&A with Andrea Lee,
supervisor of the
Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center

How long have you been with the Elaine H. Lucas Senior
Center, and what was your journey to becoming the
supervisor?
I had a passion for working with the youth and trying
to implement activities and programs into the community,
which led our director at that time to say, "Hey, I know you're
good at what you what you're doing, and we appreciate you
for that. But our community and our city" — at that time —
"need some help. They need some motivation with getting
our aging community active."
Being an athlete throughout high school and college,
having a career in athletics from childhood to this current
time now — because I still play pickleball — he wanted me
to implement some visions into our senior community or
aging community.
Going into the Senior Center at that time, when it was
