ROSA PARKS SQUARE
Bringing people together, while
honoring and remembering those who
paved the way for us, is exactly what Rosa
Parks Square is all about. The park in the

et's be real. Hopping off the interstate to go into downtown Macon is not
the prettiest sight right now. Trucks, dirt, road blocks and construction
equipment hide much of our beautiful scenery. It's easy to see the mess and
not be curious to see beyond. But look at it this way: you have a front row
ticket to big changes in our community that will shift the way we live and bring us
together — literally.
You can see a majority of the work being done with the Interstate 16/75
interchange improvement project, but there are other ongoing projects — some

plans, some for about two decades, that will come together during and after the
interchange project.
Once the interchange construction is completed in about five years, according
to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), a plan to connect the
Ocmulgee Heritage Trail to downtown Macon will start to unfold. In the meantime,
plans to enhance our downtown parks are already underway.
