The event will offer visitors and residents a rare opportunity to explore significant historic sites and private homes that are not usually open to the public. On Oct. 8, "ramblers" will tour excellent examples of early 20th-century architecture such as Colonial Revival houses, Craftsman bungalows and mid-20th-century residences, as well as Greenleaf, an impressive Georgian style 13-acre estate, and the "Stream House," an unique, mid-century modern house situated above a ravine. Guests will also have an opportunity to tour houses in the North Highlands Historic District. Oct. 9's Ramble will begin with the Georgia Trust's 44th annual Preservation Awards at the Grand Opera House. Following the awards ceremony, guests will explore historic Intown Macon and the Vineville Historic District. Oct. 10, guests will discover the charm of downtown Macon and get an insider's look at lofts that are rarely open to the public. The tour will continue in the Tindall Heights Historic District and the revitalized Beall's Hill neighborhood. The Ramble also includes special dining experiences held at historic sites throughout the weekend, such as dinner and cocktails at the Blacksmith Shop, breakfast at the historic Christ Church, dinner and drinks on the grounds of Hay House and a Sunday brunch at Fall Line Brewing Co.
