"Cities are highly dynamic entities. They are continuously changing, continuously
evolving – in fact, cities are like an organism," said Costas Spirou, provost of Georgia
College and State University, at the recent dedication of a new mural across Poplar
Street tunnel, The Spirit of Macon II by Abraham Abebe. These emerging leaders are
helping to push the complex organism of Macon forward in new directions. Just like the
splash of a paintbrush can change the way we view the landscape, look out for how these
