BeautyFull Reconnection: Dancing Together Kyung-A Yoo, collaborative piano Sergio Pallottelli, flute Friday, Feb. 10 A successful partnership between musicians is built on trust, respect and open-mindedness. A frequent collaborator on stage with Kyung-A Yoo is long-time friend and Longy School of Music of Bard College faculty member, flutist Sergio Pallottelli. A Joyous Celebration Jack Mitchener, organ Sponsored by Mercer University, First Baptist Church of Christ and the Macon Chapter of the American Guild of Organists First Baptist Church of Christ, 511 High Pl. Friday, Oct. 7 Jack Mitchener will celebrate the new Joan Stockstill Godsey organ built by the A. E. Schlueter Organ Company at First Baptist Church of Christ by playing a diverse program designed to showcase the glorious and varied sounds of the pipe organ. Included will be works of Bach, Elliott, Franck, Handel, Ives, Ropartz and Strayhorn. Faculty Jazz Quintet Monty Cole, saxophone Marcus Reddick, percussion Friday, Jan. 20 Jazz Faculty Monty Cole and Marcus Reddick join special guests Kevin Bales, piano; Jeremy Roberts, guitar; and Neal Starkey, bass, for an evening of small group jazz. The jazz quintet will perform a varied repertoire ranging from classic bebop to modern masterworks, including the premiere of new compositions. Tubonium Nathan Gay, euphonium Kyung-A Yoo, collaborative piano Friday, Feb. 17 Dr. Nathan Gay, accompanied by Dr. Kyung-A Yoo, will be performing a variety of works for euphonium and tuba. Souvenirs: An Evening of Song and Story Timothy McReynolds, collaborative piano Phillip Collister, baritone Monday, Mar. 27 An evocative program of art song, cabaret, musical theatre, poetry and theatrical monologues that reimagines the traditional song recital. The concert is themed around the word "Souvenir," a memento that is kept as a reminder of person, place or event, and features the works of American composers, playwrights and poets. April Foolishness! Rich Kosowski, Martha Malone and Friends Timothy McReynolds, collaborative piano Saturday, Apr. 1 at 5 p.m. An evening of musical jokes, silly stunts and surprises—join the fun when music faculty and students kick up their heels to welcome spring! Townsend Presents Faculty Artist Recitals Unless otherwise noted, all performances are ee and will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Neva Langley Fickling Hall in the McCorkle Music Building on Mercer's Macon campus. Townsend All-Faculty Gala Tuesday, Aug. 30 The Townsend concert season opens with a showcase of performances by the distinguished faculty artists in a festival gala concert event.
