Samuel Mike is pictured with Veterans Elementary Principal Arrika Tunstell and students before his one-year deployment to Poland. Sgt. Mike, a special education teacher at Veterans, has worked at the school since it opened in 2016. 3. District PBIS Rewards Coordinator Curlandra Lightfoot-Smith was surprised with a pair of awards from Georgia Association for Positive Behavior Support. The Bibb PBIS team received the Innovative Practices Award. Lightfoot- Smith was also honored with the Dr. Garry McGiboney Outstanding Leadership Award. 4. Subaru of Macon donated socks and blankets to Depaul USA Daybreak. Depaul USA Daybreak has been Subaru of Macon's hometown charity for five years. 5. A'nna Wilcox has been recognized as a 2022 Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) Student. Wilcox was also named a National Merit Commended Student in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. Wilcox chose to honor Georgia Olson, a veteran science teacher, as her STAR Teacher. 6. Macon Magazine Editor Renee Corwine and her husband, Jake Corwine, celebrate her birthday with friends at Just Tap'd 7.
