2 Community Foundation of Central Georgia LETTER FROM THE BOARD CHAIR Good relationships are connections, built on trust, that generate real synergy. At the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, these relationship qualities are at the core of everything we do. We endeavor to grow the philanthropic "pie" by connecting generous donors with avenues to express their generosity by supporting passionate doers. We create 3 from 1+1 by encouraging collaboration and cooperation among the nonprofits our donors support. Finally, we build trust by exhibiting excellence and integrity in all that we do. This year, the Foundation embarked on a new branding effort that we hope reflects these qualities as well. As you look at the new mark, I hope you will see circles evoking the perpetual cycle of multigenerational giving; I hope you will see the synergy between donors and doers in the interwoven rings; and I hope you will sense the strength of trust found in a woven thread. Likewise, as you read the stories in this report, I hope you find the same themes: connections, synergy, trust. I invite you to read these stories and consider adding your own chapter to the work of our Community Foundation. "IT'S ALL ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS." THAT WAS WHAT MELVIN KRUGER TOLD ME WHEN I MOVED BACK TO MACON FROM NEW YORK IN 1990. IN THE MORE THAN 30 YEARS SINCE THEN, I HAVE OFTEN THOUGHT ABOUT (AND QUOTED) THOSE WORDS, MARVELING AT HOW TRUE THEY ARE. Robert F.
