C
urb appeal – it's something almost everyone needs but not everyone has! It
isn't easy to come by, but it can be well worth the effort. If you aren't familiar
with the term, we are talking about the overall attractiveness of a house and
landscape to those passing by. Welcoming landscapes not only increase property
value, they beautify your view — and may even make friends and family green with
envy. A common feature found in almost all landscapes is the lawn, the ribbon
that ties everything together. Let's look at ways to increase your curb appeal by
increasing the beauty of your grass.

WALKING THE GREEN CARPET
Lawns play a starring role in most
landscape settings. Whether your style
is rolling grass-covered hills or a few
carefully placed green accents in the
middle of your forested lot, turf can
make quite an impact.
Four main types of turfgrass grow
well in Central Georgia: St. Augustine,
centipede, Bermuda and zoysia. There
are pros and cons associated with each.
However, as someone who hears a lot
about everyone's grass problems —
such as dead spots or thinning areas —
I'd encourage you to consider planting
Bermuda or zoysia if you are in the
market for new grass.
There are a number of different
varieties of both Bermuda and zoysia.
