W.T. Anderson began the legacy of the Anderson years (1890 – 1969) at the Macon Telegraph and Macon News
which propelled the Macon papers to prominence, in particular giving voice to the African-American community.
The W.T. Anderson Charitable Trust continues his vision by funding health care in Middle Georgia for those who
are (as stipulated by his will) "financially unable to provide such care and treatment for themselves," specifically
mentioning African-Americans.
Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of his death, the Advisory Board of the Trust calls on organizations in
the community whose mission fits that description to apply for grants so that his legacy will continue to have a
lasting impact on Macon for the next 75 years.
Please contact the Trustee, Tory Oak at tory.oak@bofa.com for more information and to learn more about
our grant proposal process.
