"Hope" is the thing with feathers -
at perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -
-An excerpt from "Hope is the thing with feathers"
by Emily Dickinson
I
n our 35th year, Macon Magazine continues to look for the heart
of the matter which, for us, is hope. We seek, share and celebrate
the hope in our stories.
Tennessee Williams was always nostalgic about his time in Macon
and wrote, "I'm sure I felt a poetry in Macon...," Read more about his
love for Macon on p. 42.
While the birds sing the tune, the poets write the words. Words tell
the truth in our story.
Together, like the poets who came before us and those in our midst,
may we rise up out of this time as only the poetry created in our
beloved city can do.
