I AM FROM JACKSONVILLE, Florida. My mother brought me here in the '40s. Well, I'm a daylight and a Maconite. They call me a daywalker. But I see things at night. Things I ain't never seen before and don't want to see 'em no more. So, I stick to the day. I was on drugs back in the '90s. I sold everything I had just to get high. But, when it made me sick ... wadn't no help for me. All those I had deals with, wadn't nobody around to see about me ... nobody but my family. And they wouldn't come to me 'til I asked. 'Cause my Father said, 'Ask and you shall be given.' I got down on my knees, and I told Him to give me another chance. And I won't make that same mistake. He gave me a job to do: Stay away from drugs. What I do, it got me stayin' away from drugs. My Father said, 'Don't let your heart be troubled.' And He said, 'A word person is a foolish person.' So, I stay away from that. I focus on action. All the time. I look for good things in my life. When I go to bed, I pray, 'Give me a chance to see another day.' My goal every day is that He give me the strength to get up, see about people. I see about the sick, them that are not able to get up to do things. They call me sometimes. I go down there and make 'em coffee, probably have to fry 'em an egg or a little bacon. God give you many blessings. And you got to be grateful and use that blessing. I just want to continue on being a servant for God. I can't go no furtha' when you workin' for Jesus. Can't go no furtha'.
