Macon is home to the some of
the best people on earth, and
local government must support
our dedicated teachers, business owners,
community leaders and civic activists
who know the potential in our city and
work tirelessly to make Macon a place
where we can all thrive.
Too many families struggle to
make ends meet, as the good
jobs always seem to be for
someone else. And when it comes time
to fight for those families, too often, we
see the same political gridlock. Every
Maconite should have the opportunity to
benefit from the best this community has
to offer.
Our tax dollars represent a deal
we've made with each other that
says, "when you do better, so do
I." Unfortunately, right now, it's not. Too
many feel they're paying more taxes than
they ever have and are receiving less
services, while inequity is still a real issue
for so many. It doesn't have to be this way.
