APRIL/MAY 2020 | maconmagazine.com 55 THE MISSION OF MY BUSINESS: At B. Monroe, we want to go the extra mile for our guests and give them exactly what they want, every time. We want to build confidence and make them feel like part of our family – all while providing beautiful career opportunities and financial independence for our team. YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED THAT: While I have been with B. Monroe Salon for almost nine years, I am not a hairstylist. I am constantly in awe of the amazing work our stylists do and the heart that they pour into their craft. It's mind blowing that this industry is a combination of science, customer service, sales and therapy! HOW I DEFINE SUCCESS: I believe success can look different depending on what season of life you are in. Webster's defines success as, "the accomplishment of an aim or purpose." So, if I aim to help five stylists get promotions in 2020 and we do it, then we are a success! If I aim to put my phone away in the evenings when I am with my family, and I do it, then it was a success. I ADMIRE WOMEN WHO: Are strong, know their worth, but have a servant's heart. I may ruffle some feathers, but I think the "put yourself first" mantra has gotten a little extreme. Yes, I believe we should be healthy and make self-care a priority. However, I also believe that we are here to serve others. Serving others means that we put their well- being ahead of our own task-list. Serving others means checking on their happiness, not enabling bad habits and loving people always, even through tough times. I HOPE MORE WOMEN WILL: Know their strength and capabilities. I hope that more women will take leaps of faith, value community over competition and look for ways to support other women. Rachel Bunn PRESIDENT B.
