The school improves lives through the students' impact in our Mercy in Action program, a community outreach that pro- motes servant leadership among students. Last year our students logged more than 17,000 hours of community outreach. As some examples, we have served the community through the St. Peter Claver Food Pantry, Rebuilding Macon, Macon Outreach and more. – Roman WHAT IS A MISCONCEPTION YOU WISH PEOPLE WOULD GET OVER? I wish people didn't see Mount de Sales as a "school for rich people." Mount de Sales is a school for anybody and this school helps so much with spiritual and educa- tional aspects. – Ayanna WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF ABOUT YOUR SCHOOL? I am proud that my school is so diverse, everyone is able to be themselves, and it's great to see that. I am also proud that every student here has a voice! We can all speak our minds freely. – Ayanna WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY LIVE HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER LIVES? I think what our community needs is the ability to truly encounter the other person, to see them as unique creatures full of love and experiences. – Roman Live Well MOUNT DE SALES ACADEMY 851 ORANGE ST. 478.751.3240 MOUNTDESALES.NET SENIORS ROMAN VADINI AND AYANNA HOSKINS | PHOTO BY JESSICA WHITLEY
