1. Cherry Blossom Festival board, staff and supporters celebrated winning
the Pinnacle Award for Best Festival in the World from the International
Festival and Event Association. 2. Central High School's Class of 1989 had
their 30-year reunion in September. Alumna Antoinese Spear Oliver chaired
the event. Oliver was also the first female Company Captain in Central's
ROTC program. 3. Macon Arts Alliance celebrated the achievements of these
artists and arts organizations and dedicated the inaugural Zelma and Otis
Redding Spirit of Community award to Robert McDuffie.
