Our mission is to provide our patients with the best care possible in all areas of our specialty. To treat each patient who walks in our doors with compassion and integrity and to direct them through the treatments, whether surgical or minimally invasive, that will best suit them. WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT FOR THE COMING YEAR? We are certainly thrilled to be opening a new office at 6326 Peake Road that will include an outpatient surgery center. We feel our new office will allow for even more personalized service for our patients and the convenience of being able to meet all of their surgical needs in the confines of a state-of-the-art surgical facility. WHAT IS A MISCONCEPTION YOU WISH PEOPLE WOULD GET OVER? One myth about plastic surgery is that it is only cosmetic surgery and procedures. Al- though, that is an important aspect of our practice, it's not all we do. We provide a wide variety of reconstructive procedures, including facial trauma, breast reconstruc- tion, lower extremity reconstruction, as well as reconstruction after skin cancer. My practice involves operating all over the body. These procedures provide patients with a sense of well-being and wholeness. Educating our patients and potential patients will help them to choose the right procedure and physician for their needs. Live Well DR. Sparks cultivates a community in which people support, challenge and inspire one another. We teach people that yoga can help you feel better physically, mentally and spiritually. We want people to learn that yoga can transcend into a life prac- tice, offering lessons beyond our classes. WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT FOR THE COMING YEAR? As we move into our third year, I am in awe of the ever-growing community. I'm excited to see people's progress within their yoga practice, but equally as excited to see the connections people make and the love that builds beyond the yoga. WHAT CHALLENGES DO YOU FACE, AND HOW DO YOU OVERCOME THEM? The last few years have been full of chal- lenges. Some life altering, some small. I've learned not to let my challenges de- fine me, but I've also learned not to for- get them. Our challenges shape us, and I wouldn't trade them for an easier path. Have faith, a village of support, hard work and never give up hope. WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY LEAD HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER LIVES? We are doing it! One of my favorite quotes is, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." To best build lives lived well, we must build them together.
