Red, White & Blue Sangria An adult beverage rounds out the picnic menu – and this one is a refreshing mix of berries and white wine. One bottle white wine of your choice 1/3 container fruit juice concentrate, such as apple-cherry 3 oz. fresh blueberries, rinsed 3 oz. fresh raspberries, rinsed ½ pint fresh strawberries, quartered Sparkling water, to taste Pour wine into large pitcher; add fruit concentrate and stir. While it incorporates, lightly muddle berries in a large mixing bowl until a bit of juice forms at the bottom. Add fruit to the wine mixture and stir. In a mixing bowl, cream the sugar and butter, beating until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition. Mix cocoa and food coloring together; add to sugar mixture, mixing well. Sift together flour and salt. Add flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Blend in vanilla. In a small bowl, combine baking soda and vinegar and add to mixture. Pour batter into lined cupcake tins. Bake for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting. Icing: Blend cream cheese and butter together in mixing bowl.
