Afterwards, please join us for a reception honoring the performers and the start of the concert year on the patio. Faculty Artist Recitals Townsend Presents music.mercer.edu Richard Kosowski, tenor Tuesday, Sept. 10 Professors of Music Rich Kosowski and Carol Goff will present an evening of songs and arias featuring the achingly beautiful Tre sonetti di Petrarca by Franz Liszt, lieder of Richard Strauss, rarely heard French Baroque and Classical arias, and five comical and touching Appalachian folk songs arranged by North Carolina composer Kenneth Frazelle. Leah Partridge, soprano Carol Goff, collaborative piano Thursday, Feb. 13 "Songs for the Soul" — Leah Partridge, soprano, will join Carol Goff, piano, in a beautiful evening of collaborative artistry. Leah Partridge, a Mercer alum, has received consistent praise worldwide for her intelligent and compelling operatic roles, making her debut with the Metropolitan Opera in 2008. Her interpretations of song literature reflect stunning clarity and deep reflection. Carol Goff, collaborative piano TSM Friends Monday, April 20 Great American Art Songs — Carol Goff, fellow artist friends and colleagues will take a journey through the music and poetry of some of the most significant composers of 19th, 20th and 21st century art song. This rich and varied program will be an evening of remembrance, longing, peace, hope and love. Monty Cole, clarinet Tuesday, Oct. 8 "Viva Italia!" — An evening of musical gems for clarinet and piano. Monty Cole and Jean Roberts team up to present the chamber music of Rossini, Mangani and Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Martha Malone, soprano Thursday, Sept. 26 Cabaret: That's the Story ... — Life gives us plenty to sing about, and every song tells a story. Hear treasurers by great American songwriters from the worlds of Broadway, jazz and more. Expect laughter and tears, and a few surprises! Mercer Faculty Brass Tuesday, Oct. 15 The Mercer Faculty Brass presents a comprehensive program of music of "Brass Through Time." The program will highlight pieces from the Renaissance and Baroque to jazzy modern works.
