Fading Five Photo Contest Winner

MACON'S FADING FIVE is an annual list published by Historic Macon
Foundation. It highlights historic structures and places that are threatened by
neglect or possible demolition. Historic Macon and Macon Magazine challenged
the community to learn about these locations and capture them in a unique way.
Here is what contest winner Douglas Nurnberger Jr. had to say about the subject
of his winning photograph.
"The coaling tower on Seventh Street is the most amazing structure I have
encountered in Macon. It has personality, charm, wit and reminds me of some sort
of 'cyber-punk' giant robot using one arm to load coal onto trains. Just standing in
front of it makes you feel as if you were in a dream or even a blockbuster movie."
