We see patients every day who are often dealing with the most challenging health issue of their lives. I think our doctors, and especially our staff, really do everything we can to support the patients and their families through this. WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF ABOUT YOUR PRACTICE? I am proud to be part of a group that has been providing care for oncology patients for over 40 years. As a group, we are constantly looking forward, but the knowledge that has been passed down through the years helps us, and more importantly, it helps us take good care of our patients. HOW DO YOU UNWIND? I love being somewhere outdoors and reading a book. Vacationing with my family at the beach always provides the best memories. Our practice treats a serious disease and helps sick patients achieve their goals. Of course, our goal is to get the patient better, but it's a complex process. As doctors, we research and educate patients about all their options and work to guide them through their cancer journey. WHY ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT YOUR JOB? With a doctorate in biochemistry, I saw firsthand the exploding frontier of new cancer therapies. With so much hope on the horizon, I wanted to be a part of eliminating the threat of cancer, so I become an oncologist. WHEN YOU'RE NOT WORKING, WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING? When I'm not at work, I'm hanging out with my family. My 2- and 4-year-old daughters have their eyes wide open to discovery and really enjoy exploring and traveling. For me, it's like seeing with new eyes. ANITA HARVEY, PERSONS BANKING COMPANY 88 North Lee Street | Forsyth 478.994.5146 personsbanking.com DR.
