Performance highlights include Messiah (Saint Thomas Church, New York), Passion According to St. John (Dallas Bach Society), and Nisi Dominus (Orchestra of New Spain). Mr. Cameron is featured on the Dorian recording, Madrid 1752, "Sacred Music from the Chapel of Spain" by the Bach Sinfonia of Washington. Laura Strickling, soprano Tuesday, January 29 Devoted art song and vocal chamber music interpreters, Strickling and Stepanova began their collaboration in 2011, and have performed concerts and recitals in New York, California, Illinois, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, Vermont, Texas, and London, England. They will present a program of songs by composers who have set texts and poetry by and about women, featuring contemporary American works. Ben Altman, guitar Tuesday, March 12 The Townsend School of Music is pleased to welcome back native Maconite Benjamin Altman for an evening of classical guitar music. Dr. Altman is an active concert soloist, chamber musician, and concerto soloist. A dedicated proponent of new music, Altman serves on the faculty at the Potomac School and Opal Music Studio in Virginia. Townsend Presents Owen Lovell, piano Tuesday, September 25 Guest artist Owen Lovell will present an evening of piano masterworks. He has appeared as a soloist and critically acclaimed chamber musician through the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Netherlands. Dr. Lovell is currently on the faculty at Georgia College where he coordinates the keyboard area.
