Strad magazine raved about Lee's "exceptional tonal suavity and expressive intensity in equal measure." A first-prize winner in the Washington and D'Angelo International Competitions and medal winner in the Tchaikovsky Competition and the Queen Elisabeth Competition, she currently teaches at Seoul National University. Classical Voice has described Reardon's playing as "elegant" and "virtuosic". The Grammy-nominated violist is an internationally renowned performer and a member of the Ensō String Quartet. Annie Fullard, violinist with the famed Cavani Quartet, brings a wealth of experience to her role as chamber music coach at the Center, encouraging students to delve deep, exploring the composition process. Daniel Tosky, double bassist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, adds his expertise to the mix in the incredibly virtuosic Grand Duo. Catherine Cho, violin Amy Schwartz Moretti, violin Hsin-Yun Huang, viola Elizabeth Pridgen, piano McDuffie Center Young Artists Tuesday, November 27 Recitalist and chamber musician Catherine Cho makes her Fabian debut. An Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, Cho has collaborated with renowned artists such as Richard Stoltzman, Andras Schiff, Anton Kuerti, and Mitsuko Uchida, and has performed the complete cycle of Beethoven's violin sonatas with pianist Mia Chung. Cho joins fellow Juilliard faculty Hsin-Yun Huang, who will make her bow as a Center Distinguished Faculty in a program featuring Schumann's Sonata in A minor for Violin and Piano, Kodaly's Serenade for Two Violins and Viola, and Chausson's Concerto for Violin, Piano and String Quartet. Beethoven Sonata for Violin and Piano: Cycle 2 Amy Schwartz Moretti, violin Andrew Armstrong, piano Tuesday, February 5 In the second of an ambitious three-concert cycle over three years, Amy Schwartz Moretti and pianist Andrew Armstrong reunite to perform Beethoven's fifth, seventh, and ninth sonatas. The series concludes in 2020, the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth. Cortona Trio Amy Schwartz Moretti, violin Julie Albers, cello Elizabeth Pridgen, piano Tuesday, March 26 The ever-popular trio returns to Fickling. Each is an established and respected artist in her own right – Moretti as concertmaster, chamber musician, soloist and member of the renowned Ehnes Quartet; Albers as soloist and principal cellist of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra; and Pridgen as concert pianist and director of the Atlanta Chamber Players. Together, they create a seamless soundscape, performing Chausson and Mozart on this evening's program.
